African buying requests: live RFQs waiting for Turkish exporters
Buying requests on Tafric are RFQs published by African importers who want to source from Türkiye. Each one names the product, the quantity, the destination port and the documents required. Filter by category or country, open the ones you can actually serve, and send a CFR or FOB offer with your price validity and lead time.
Answering African RFQs: an exporter's guide
How answering a request works
Open a request, read the specification and destination, and send an offer with your price, incoterm, lead time and validity. If the buyer takes it forward, the conversation opens and you deal with the importer directly. Requests carry a category, so filtering to yours keeps the list to what your line can actually produce or supply.
Quote CFR, and say what the price covers
African importers compare landed cost, so a CFR price to Apapa, Tema, Dakar, Abidjan, Mombasa or Algiers is what wins attention. Loading is usually from Mersin or İstanbul. If you quote FOB, add an indicative freight figure so the buyer can still compare. State whether inland haulage to the Turkish port is included.
Agree the payment method before production
Set the payment terms in the offer itself. An L/C at sight through a confirmed bank protects the exporter on a first shipment. Documentary collection is workable with a buyer you already know. A 30 percent advance with the balance against documents is the usual middle ground. Say which terms you accept instead of leaving it open.
Documents to have ready before you offer
The buyer's customs office decides what travels with the goods. Beyond invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin, Türkiye issues ATR or EUR.1 where the trade agreement applies. Conformity programmes vary: SONCAP in Nigeria, G-CAP in Ghana, COC schemes elsewhere through SGS, Bureau Veritas, COTECNA or Intertek. Halal and CE apply by product.
What a verified request means
A request goes live after review, and the badge on a buyer records what was checked: the company record behind the account, whether the contact details reach that company, and the documents supplied with the request. That review filters out the noise you would otherwise sift through. Your own payment terms and inspection still do the rest of the work.
Frequently asked questions
Work from published requests. Filter the list to your category and destination markets, open the ones matching your capacity, and answer with a complete CFR offer. A specific answer that names price, MOQ, lead time and the documents you can issue gets read; a generic catalogue reply usually does not.
