Safety & security equipment buying requests from Africa
African mines, construction sites, factories and municipalities open buying requests for personal protective equipment, firefighting supplies, CCTV and surveillance systems, access control, traffic and road safety materials and pest control equipment. This page collects verified requests and shows Turkish exporters what the buyer checks first: the EN standard marking, the CE file, capacity in kilograms or channels, and the CFR price to the destination port.
Exporting safety & security equipment to Africa: what buyers check
The standard marking comes before the price
Requests in this category name a standard. Industrial helmets are asked to EN 397, safety footwear to EN ISO 20345 with the S1 or S3 marking, gloves to EN 388 with its abrasion and cut digits, eye protection to EN 166 and high visibility clothing to EN ISO 20471 class 2 or 3. Quote the marking you can actually certify, and put it in the first line of your offer.
The CE file behind the mark
Category III equipment such as respiratory protection and fall arrest needs an EU type-examination certificate under Regulation 2016/425, followed by module C2 or module D surveillance. Attach the certificate, the notified body number and the declaration of conformity to your offer. Tender buyers copy those numbers into their own submission file, so an incomplete set removes you from the shortlist.
Firefighting: kilograms, rating and refill
Firefighting requests are written in capacity and rating. State the ABC dry powder grade, whether you supply 6 kg, 9 kg or 12 kg cylinders, the fire rating printed on the label and the valve thread, because the buyer will refill locally after the first year. Fire cabinets are quoted with hose length, coupling type and whether the box ships knocked down to save container volume.
CCTV and access control: quote the whole set
Site conditions decide these offers. Quarry dust, coastal salt and heat push buyers toward IP66 housings, so give the resolution, the infrared range in metres and the housing rating together. Say how many channels the NVR takes, whether the cameras run on Power over Ethernet and how many recording days the disk covers. Access control offers should carry card frequency, fingerprint capacity and lock holding force.
Samples, tenders and container loading
Mining operators and construction contractors buy in blocks, usually after a sample set and a tender round, so ask for a size curve on footwear and clothing before you price. Helmets and boots fill a container by volume while extinguishers reach the weight limit first; give the loading plan next to the CFR figure. Payment is commonly an L/C at sight or an advance TT.
Frequently asked questions
CE marking under EU Regulation 2016/425 with the declaration of conformity. Category III items such as respirators and fall arrest also need the EU type-examination certificate and the notified body number. Test reports against EN 397, EN ISO 20345 or EN 388 go into the buyer's tender file, so send them with the offer.
