Packaging & printing buying requests from Africa: cartons, film, labels
African importers open requests for corrugated cartons, folding boxes, flexible film, self-adhesive labels, tin and glass containers, plus printing services. This page collects verified buying requests and shows Turkish exporters exactly what buyers specify: flute type and ECT, paper grammage, film micron, print process and colour count, MOQ against print run, and CFR delivery to Lagos, Abidjan or Dakar.
Exporting packaging & printing to Africa: what buyers expect
Read the board spec before you quote
A carton request that names only dimensions is incomplete. Ask for the flute type (B, C, E or BC double wall), the liner and fluting grammage in g/m², and the ECT or burst value the buyer needs. Stacking height in a humid warehouse decides the grade, so confirm both before you price the board.
Print process, tooling and MOQ
Offset suits fine detail on folding cartons, flexography fits corrugated and film at volume, rotogravure pays off on long film runs. Each process carries its own tooling: a cutting die for the box, plates or cylinders for the print. Quote that cost as a separate one-off line and show the buyer that it falls away on the repeat order.
Film micron, label adhesive and food contact
Film requests turn on micron and structure: BOPP for clarity and stiffness, PE for sealing and strength, laminates where a barrier is needed. Labels turn on face material and adhesive, since a hot, humid warehouse lifts a cold-glue label off a chilled bottle. If the pack touches food, attach the food-grade declaration of conformity and the migration test report.
Packaging cubes out before it weighs out
Empty packaging is light and bulky, so the container fills on volume long before the weight limit. Quote cartons flat and knocked down, and give the pallet pattern, pieces per pallet and pallets per 20' or 40' HC. A buyer comparing two offers looks at landed cost per thousand pieces, and loading efficiency decides it.
Quote structure and verified demand
Price per thousand pieces or per kilo in USD, CFR to the destination port, with the print run stated next to the MOQ so the buyer sees why a small order costs more per unit. Add a validity window, since paper and resin prices move. On Tafric each request is verified before it goes live.
