You can buy packaging and filling machines from Turkey directly from the manufacturers that build them: sachet water (pure water) machines, vertical form-fill-seal packers for sugar, rice, beans, spices and powders, liquid and paste fillers, bottling lines, cappers, labellers and case packers. This guide is for food processors, water producers and traders in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and the rest of Africa: which machine fits which product, what to put in your request, what drives the price and how to import.
Short answer
Start your request from the product, not the machine: what you pack (water, powder, granules, oil, paste), the pack size (for example 500 ml sachet, 1 kg bag, 1 L bottle), the output you need per hour or per day, and the power you have. A Turkish supplier can then propose the right machine type, the film or container it needs and what comes before and after it in the line.
Turkey, China or India?
Buyers compare three main sources. Chinese and Indian makers offer a very wide range and low entry prices, especially for small sachet and powder machines. Turkish manufacturers build complete machines in Turkey, many of them for European customers, so they are used to stainless contact parts, documented wiring and CE conformity. Turkey is also closer to North and West Africa by sea, and suppliers can usually send a technician for installation and training. Compare the full offer: machine, spare parts kit, film or tooling, installation and training, delivered to your port.
Which machine for which product?
| What you pack | Usual machine | Tell the supplier |
|---|---|---|
| Drinking water in sachets (pure water) | Automatic sachet form-fill-seal machine, fed by a water treatment unit | Sachet volume, sachets per hour, treatment you already have |
| Bottled water, juice, oil | Rinsing, filling and capping monoblock, labeller, shrink wrapper | Bottle sizes, bottles per hour, still or carbonated |
| Sugar, rice, beans, grains, pulses | Vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) with volumetric cup or multihead weigher | Bag weight range, bags per minute, bag style |
| Flour, milk powder, spices, detergent powder | VFFS or premade-bag machine with auger filler | Powder type, dustiness, bag weight |
| Yoghurt, tomato paste, honey, jam, sauces | Cup fill-seal or piston filler, jar capper | Viscosity, container, hot or cold fill |
| Cartons and pallets at the end of the line | Case erector, case packer, stretch wrapper | Products per carton, cartons per hour |
Recent requests on Tafric show this mix: sachet water machines in Benin and DR Congo (the Congo request with its water treatment unit), automatic bagging machines for powders in Cameroon, a small machine for packing sugar beans in Zimbabwe, maize milling with packaging and fufu portioning in Nigeria, yoghurt cups, olive oil bottling, spice cleaning and bagging lines, and a bottled water plant in Senegal.
Sachet water machines: what to ask
A sachet water machine forms the sachet from a roll of printed film, fills it and seals it. The water that goes into it has to be treated first: ask the supplier to price the treatment unit too (filtration, reverse osmosis, UV) if you do not have one, and to size both for the same output. Ask for the sachet volume range, real output per hour at your sachet size, stainless steel on all wetted parts, film specification and width, and whether the price includes a printed film sample run. Packaged water is usually regulated (by NAFDAC in Nigeria, the Food and Drugs Authority in Ghana and KEBS in Kenya), so check the registration and plant requirements with your regulator before you order.
Power, film and spare parts
Most packaging machines run on 380-415 V three-phase at 50 Hz; small sachet and powder machines can be single-phase 220-240 V. Tell the supplier what you have, including whether you run on a generator or an unstable grid, and ask for a voltage stabiliser if needed. Ask which packaging material the machine runs (LDPE sachet film, laminated film, premade bags, PET bottles) and where you will buy it locally. Order a spare parts kit with the machine: sealing jaws, heating elements, belts, sensors and fuses wear first.
What drives the price
There is no list price: the same machine type can vary widely. Price depends on output (packs per minute), dosing system (cup, auger, multihead weigher, piston), level of automation (manual feed or fully automatic with conveyor and date printer), stainless steel grade, control components, and what is included: tooling for your pack sizes, spare parts, installation and training. Ask each supplier for a line-by-line price on the same basis, CFR or CIF your port, so you can compare.
How to import a packaging machine from Turkey
1) Define the product, pack size, output and power. 2) Post a free request on Tafric with these details and, if possible, a photo of the pack you want. 3) Compare offers line by line and ask for videos of the machine running your type of product. 4) Agree a factory acceptance test (FAT) with your own product or a sample, by video if you cannot travel. 5) Agree payment, Incoterm and delivery time in a pro forma invoice. 6) Ship with your forwarder and plan installation and training on arrival.
Shipping and customs
Sea freight from Türkiye to West Africa usually takes about 2 to 4 weeks port to port, depending on the service and transhipment (direct sailings are at the short end); East and Southern Africa take longer via Suez. Ask your forwarder for the current schedule. Most packaging machines travel in a 20 ft or 40 ft container, crated and fixed. Industrial machinery is generally importable, but duty, VAT and pre-shipment documents differ by country (for example Form M in Nigeria, the electronic cargo tracking note in several West African countries): ask your clearing agent before you pay.
How Tafric works for buyers
Posting a request is free. Tafric checks it before publication, then Turkish packaging and filling machine manufacturers see it and contact you directly. You compare, ask your questions and agree terms with the supplier you choose. Frequently asked questions
Can I buy packaging machines from Turkey?
Yes. Turkish manufacturers build sachet water machines, vertical form-fill-seal packers, powder and grain packers, liquid fillers, bottling lines, cappers, labellers and case packers, and export them to Africa. On Tafric you post a free request and suppliers contact you.
How much is a sachet (pure water) machine in Nigeria?
It depends on the output per hour, the sachet size range, the level of automation and whether you also need the water treatment unit. Ask suppliers for prices on the same basis, including spare parts, film sample and installation, delivered to your port. In Nigeria add duty, VAT and clearing to the CFR price.
Which machine do I need to pack sugar, rice or beans?
Usually a vertical form-fill-seal machine with a volumetric cup filler for free-flowing granules, or a multihead weigher if you need accurate weights. Tell the supplier the bag weight range and how many bags per minute you need.
What power do packaging machines need?
Most run on 380-415 V three-phase at 50 Hz; small sachet and powder machines can be 220-240 V single-phase. Tell the supplier your power source and ask for a stabiliser if your grid is unstable.
Do I need approval to produce sachet water?
Packaged water is usually regulated, for example by NAFDAC in Nigeria, the Food and Drugs Authority in Ghana and KEBS in Kenya. Check registration and plant requirements with your regulator before ordering the machine.
How long does shipping from Turkey take?
Usually about 2 to 4 weeks port to port to West Africa, depending on the service and transhipment; longer to East and Southern Africa. Ask your forwarder for the current schedule.
