You can buy cosmetics wholesale from Turkish manufacturers and distributors: skin care creams and lotions, hair care ranges (shampoo, conditioner, hair oil, leave-in, styling creams), makeup, soaps, shower gels, deodorants and body sprays. This guide is for beauty shops, salons and distributors in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, Cameroon, DR Congo and the rest of Africa: what to order, which documents to ask for, what drives the price and how to import legally.
What to write in your request
List the products and formats, not just "all cosmetics": product type, skin or hair type, size (for example 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml jars or bottles), quantity per item or per carton, and the country where you will sell. Say whether you need labels in English or French and which documents your regulator requires. Turkish suppliers can then send product photos, ingredient lists and prices for matching ranges.
On Tafric you can browse Personal Care and Beauty Products from Turkish manufacturers and the wider Cosmetic Products category, or post a free buying request.
Why Turkish cosmetics?
Turkey has a large cosmetics and personal care industry that produces for its own market, Europe and the Middle East, from mass-market soaps and deodorants to hair care and skin care ranges. Turkish deodorants and body sprays are already familiar in several African markets. Compare honestly: China offers the lowest prices and widest range of generic products, Dubai traders resell many origins from stock, and Europe and Korea are known for premium skin care. Turkey fits buyers who want good quality at mid-range prices, mixed orders and faster shipping than from Asia.

Ingredients, labels and registration
Many African countries require cosmetics to be registered or notified before sale, for example with NAFDAC in Nigeria, the FDA in Ghana, AIRP in Côte d'Ivoire and DPML in Cameroon; in Senegal a specific cosmetics decree is being prepared, so check the rule in force. Ask suppliers for the full ingredient list (INCI), batch numbers and expiry dates on each pack, safety data and a certificate of free sale or manufacturing certificate where required. Several countries ban or restrict skin-lightening ingredients such as mercury and high levels of hydroquinone; check the restricted ingredients in your market and verify each product's ingredient list before ordering. Avoid copies of international brands: they can be seized at customs.
What drives the price
There is no single price list for Turkish cosmetics. Prices depend on the product and formula, active ingredients, packaging (jar, tube, pump bottle), size, quantity per reference and labelling. Ask each supplier for prices per piece and per carton for the same products and sizes, and ask whether the price is ex works (EXW), loaded on the vessel (FOB) or delivered to your port (CFR). Then add freight, duties and registration costs to compare with prices in your market.
How to import cosmetics from Turkey
1) Choose your products, sizes and quantities, and check registration rules with your national regulator. 2) Post a free request on Tafric or contact suppliers; ask for ingredient lists and samples. 3) Agree in writing on price, labelling, delivery term and payment. 4) Book shipping: cosmetics often travel in a shared container (LCL) or a full container for larger orders; aerosols and alcohol-based products may need dangerous goods handling, so tell your forwarder. 5) Prepare the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin and any registration documents for customs clearance.
